To whom it may concern:
My family of four went to Israel from December 21-January 3 of this past year. We employed a personal tour guide for 9 days to drive us through the country, taking us to the highlights and explaining the significance of all that we saw.
We were assigned Gideon Hermon.
We met Gideon on our first morning, and we knew this would be a wonderful experience. His van was clean and comfortable. He showed us his stock of candy (perfect for our daughters, ages 19 and 15) and told us the itinerary for the entire trip. We added some additional stops and altered the itinerary slightly to suit our needs based on Gideon’s recommendations.
Gideon Hermon is a storehouse of history both past and present. He has the ability to make history come alive and peak the curiosity of an onlooker, irregardless of their age. Using his ample supply of maps, diagrams, and photos, we left each site with knowledge and understanding.
Being a history fan, I would study in advance, on the places we were scheduled to visit each day. I would ask Gideon a lot of questions, some were a little trivial, and some were a little repetitious. He never lost his patience or made me feel insignificant for my inquisitive nature.
Along the way, we ate the best food. Gideon knows the best falafel and hummus restaurants throughout Israel. He took us to his favorite candy store in Tiberias, and we stocked up on sweets much to the delight of our daughters!
We ventured off the beaten path. Gideon took us to out of the way places where tours do not usually go. When he saw that one of our daughters loved shoes, he took us to the Naot factory. When my husband told him that his mother lived on Kibbutz Alonim, he took us to that kibbutz. He was totally accommodating, always with a smile, and always with a fantastic sense of humor.
At the end of our 9 days with Gideon, we felt like he was a family member. He saw us laugh and fight. He got to know each of us, and we will always smile when we think of Gideon and our memories of Israel.
We give Gideon Hermon the highest of praise. I would recommend him to anyone needing a tour guide in Israel. He is knowledgeable, professional, kind, courteous, respectful, and thoroughly entertaining!
Most sincerely,
The Hauser family
